Teaching language, basically, needs more than just patient. It further requires ability of managing self-characters, which is the other part of psychological improvement. That's the reason why i should be proud of being a teacher.
Indonesian students, especially those who speak English rarely, mostly argued that English is the hardest subject to learn. I think i understand their difficulties which could strongly be influenced by some English grammar aspects that wouldn't be found in their mother tongue. For this i truly agree to the term 'difficult'. 'I can still breathe though i don't speak English', some students said. 'We're proud enough with our native language,' the others argued.
Often, when i teach English to the students in class, they react as if i were a stranger who came from an unknown planet talking about something they would never understood. On the other time, i feel like teaching how to write a scientific journal to the illiterate people. It just looks like i give them something they don't even need. Then why should i keep teaching? Such question takes my breath and keeps running on my blood everytime.
